Welcome! We are so excited that you are interested in becoming a member of River City Pops. We believe everyone should have a safe space to express themselves and have fun performing. RCP is a group open to all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, body sizes, vocal ranges, physical abilities, ages, and neurodivergences. If you are kind, open, and ready to put on a show, we’d love to meet you!

What can I expect as a member of RCP?

  • Each year we put on one or two stage shows. We sing, we dance, we have fun. We create our shows from scratch with full group numbers created by our leadership and director, but the majority of our show comes from “specialty” numbers created and produced by group members. This makes every RCP show a truly unique experience.

  • We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Members are expected to help with fundraising to the best of their ability through various opportunities both in-person and virtual.

  • Rehearsal schedules vary from show-to-show and gig-to-gig, but generally our rehearsals are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 or 10 pm with occasional Saturday mornings as we get closer to our show date.

When is the next show?

We are excited to share that we will be returning to the Dougherty Arts Center next year for our 40th Anniversary main stage show on May 17th and 18th.

How do I audition?

We have already concluded in-person auditions for performers hoping to join RCP this season. However, we are always opening up other opportunities for interested performers to audition and sometimes accept virtual auditions as well. If you missed auditions but are still interested in joining, please email president@rivercitypops.org to learn a bit more about the next potential opportunity to audition!

If you aren’t ready to audition just yet, but would like to try us out first (visit a rehearsal), let us know by contacting president@rivercitypops.org.
